The year was 1999. In the middle of everywhere, two young adventurers, each with non-conformist tendencies, found themselves professionally shackled in neighboring cubicles. In getting to know each other over time, these adventurers soon realized that they had more than just their non-conformist tendencies in common. They shared a great love for the question and the idea, as well as a fierce, uncompromising and bizarre belief in people. They also shared strong allergies to boredom, drudgery, status quo, fax machines, cubicles, employee orientations and three-ring binders.
In the cubicle farm where these adventurers were doing time, it was business as usual with a healthy dose of dysfunction and denial, and our adventurers were soon in survival mode, drowning their sorrows daily at 5:01pm. If not sooner.
But a day came when things had gone too far, and these adventurers, with non-conformist tendencies, said no more. People were not meant to live like this. People were not mean to work like this. Revolt. Liberation. Freedom. There was a great deal of ruckus and they were gone from the cubicle farm.
